sports confidence ...
4) Work on increasing your fundamental sport skills.
Analyze how you go about your day-to-day business in practice sessions.
In addition to skills you already have mastered, focus special attention
on the difficult aspects of your sport as well. Write down the little
things you plan to work on to help improve your technique.
5) Use positive self-talk. To increase your
self-confidence, say, think, and imagine positive thoughts such as," I
am going to succeed", "I am improving", "My workouts are paying off",
and "I can do it". Repeat these affirmations with emotion and conviction
so it's felt in your gut.
6) Visualize success. Set aside periods several times
a week to mentally rehearse and go through your competition in your
mind. See yourself performing well and coping with adversity. "When you
can see yourself performing well in your imagination, it helps increase
your self-confidence" .
7) Set aside time to simulate your event or sports
competition. During the last few weeks before a major competition, take
part in a simulated event, using this practice session as if it were the
actual competition. At the end of the special practice, note that all of
the positive elements you achieved as well as your weak points that need
to be worked on further. Use this checklist to set realistic goals for
the upcoming bodybuilding competition.
