bodybuilding equipment companies make Biceps Curl machines designed to
allow you to subject your biceps muscle to full range rotary resistance.
One advantage of these biceps machines is that they allow you to do
heavy forced negatives, your workout partner pressing down on the weight
as you resist during the downward part of the movement.
Another is
that you can often get a longer range of motion, gives your biceps
muscle more stretch and total contraction. However, biceps machines lock
you into one narrow movement path, which will not allow for a really
full development of the biceps muscle. Use biceps machines as a method
of getting more variety in your biceps workouts in addition to, but not
instead of, free weight curls.
