Barbell Pole Curl

A barbell curl is a barbell curl, right? Not exactly. You'll have to try this movement to know what we mean. It's like a regular barbell curl except that you lean against a pole or wall - and stay firmly there during the entire exercise. Talk about intensity !

  • Don't expect to use the same weight as a regular barbell curl. Lighten the load when performing the barbell pole curl workout.

  • Keep your head and upper torso firmly against the pole throughout the range of motion. Don't let your back come off the surface even an inch !

  • Use wide, medium and close grips to target specific areas of the biceps muscle.

  • Keep your elbows locked at your sides when doing the barbell pole curl - don't let them come up and in front of your torso.
