Question Your Limits

Question Your Limits

Once you have used a particular weight on a bodybuilding workout program for a while, you may view it as the natural weight for that workout. You come to expect to use exactly that weight. After doing 101 pounds on the dumbbell shrugs for a few weeks, we found ourselves using the same stack of weight mindlessly.

Many limits exist only because we accept them, and the fourth key to overcoming limits is to continually question and challenge them. Each bodybuilding workout, each exercise, each set, ask yourself, " Can I push more weight this time ?" If you keep a written record of your weights during the workout session, you may be especially prone to using the same weight without thinking. You might want to write on your log,

 " Don't believe everything you read !"
