Achilles Tendinitis

This is an inflammation of the Achilles tendon, the large tendon at the back of the ankle that connects the calf muscles. It is estimated that Achilles tendinitis accounts for roughly a tenth of all running injuries, and because blood supply to this tendon is relatively poor, the condition takes a long time to heal.

Achilles Tendinitis symptoms : Pain of the tendon during exercise, swelling and redness. The pain may disappear after warm-up, but return when the exercise session is over.

Achilles Tendinitis treatment : Rest and cold press. Wearing a heel pad to raise the heel can take some pressure off the tendon. See a doctor, if ignored, the condition can turn chronic and become very difficult to treat.
