Cardio exercise is one of the main components in a complete fitness program.

Cardio exercise is the key factor in staying healthy. It does good things for your cardiovascular system, an important part of weight management, and in decreasing the risk for cardiovascular diseases.

Three to four days of cardio exercise is fine for general health maintenance. For weight loss, gradually work up to 45 minutes or longer at low to moderate intensities in a low-or no-impact activity.

Examples of exercises that are considered cardio exercise is walking, running, jogging, rowing and cross training.
